Posthuma Retires AFP / YUZURU SUNADA
Dutch cyclist Joost Posthuma has announced his retirement after failing to find a team slot for next year. The 31-year-old Posthuma raced for the RadioShack team last year under the direction of Johan Bruyneel, Lance Armstrong's former team chief.

"I have been unable to find a team for next year and I am not sure what I will be doing," he said on his personal website. "I took my decision a few weeks ago. I am stopping and it's time to move on to new challenges. My decision has nothing to do with the Armstrong (doping) affair. It is a total coincidence."

Posthuma was best known as a powerful time-triallist. He won a stage of Paris-Nice and came first in the Tour of Luxembourg and the Ruta del Sol.
