Castelli has unveiled the first cyclocross-specific one-piece SpeedSuit, the SanRemo SpeedSuit CX. The CX is a jersey-and-Body Paint shorts combo that integrates a full zip jersey with a fit designed for the increased range of motion required for cyclo-cross racing. The jersey and shorts are sewn at the waist to leave the front, middle quarter open. This allows for a full zip jersey that has no irritating front folding when the rider is in the riding position. The SanRemo SpeedSuit CX features a longer center front and more shoulder room for moving around a top of the bike or running off the machine. Castelli rounds out the top with a fleecy Thermoflex fabric for cold conditions and 3/4 length sleeves.
The shorts uses Castelli's Kiss3 chamois, which is positioned further back to keep it from catching on the rider's saddle when remounting. The one-piece shorts also utilize Castelli's Giro3 single-layer leg ending for a secure and tight fit. The SanRemo SpeedSuit CX is available through Castelli’s Servizio Corse custom program with a retail price of $349 (standard), $250 (custom –Lycra 3/4 sleeve), $270 (Thermoflex long sleeve) The standard SanRemo SpeedSuit CX will be available to consumers in mid-September. Custom versions can now be ordered through Castelli's Servizio Corse program with a delivery time of eight weeks.
