Tubeless has benefits standard clinchers don’t, end of
story. We can debate rolling resistance and handing until the cows come home,
but increased puncture resistance is not up for debate. The crew at Maxxis are
onboard with tubeless and their Padrone is a great example of it. While many
companies are slapping their name on other manufacturer’s tubeless tires,
Maxxis has made the Padrone entirely in house using features we have come to
love in their tires - 120 TPI, carbon bead, Silkworm Puncture Protection and
their Dual Compound Technology. Sure, they aren’t the only company doing dual
compound these days, but we have always found theirs to offer easy rolling,
long life and great handling when you lean it over onto the softer shoulders.
The Maxxis Padrone is a great reason to finally go tubeless.
