The Liquigas-Cannondale Pro-Cycling team will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Cannondale by racing the Philadelphia International Championship in a limited-edition black version of the 2011 team kit.
Cannondale was founded in 1971, focused on creating innovative cycling product. The Philadelphia International Championship is the longest running and most important single-day cycling road race in the United States. For this race only, fans will get a chance to see the Liquigas-Cannondale Pro-Cycling team ride in slick black, green and white kits, mirroring Cannondale’s company colors. Key Liquigas Cannondale riders in Philadelphia will be Peter Sagan, Jurai Sagan, Ted King and Tim Duggan. Sagan is fresh off a strong performance at the Tour of California, where he dominated various sprints each day and won the longest stage, ultimately taking the coveted green Herbalife Sprint Points Jersey.
King and Duggan also showed their strength with strong showings at the USPro Championships in Greenville, SC. “For forty years, Cannondale has been dedicated to creating the perfect ride. Our partnership with the Liquigas-Cannondale team brings this focus to life, and we’re thrilled to be able to celebrate it with a limited edition team kit,” said Bob Burbank, General Manager, Cannondale. SUGOI Performance Apparel is the team’s 2011 technical apparel sponsor. SUGOI’s Pascal Wehr works in close consultation with the Liquigas-Cannondale Pro-Cycling team to perfect the kits. Wehr said “The 2011 kits feature anatomically correct construction and purposely fitted stretch and ventilation panels, all designed to support the fastest ride possible. SUGOI is excited to have the opportunity to field test new innovations, making sure the riders get the best possible product and technology. Plus it is a simply beautiful looking kit.” The consumer version of the kit is available to consumers both as an authentic kit and as a replica in black.
