Nino Corvato cares deeply about the way we dress. A tailor, designer, and businessman, the 72-year old has espoused the virtues of custom designs for most of his life. Since 1987 he has created suits, coats, ties, and other pieces for a legion of loyal clients under the banner of Nino Corvato Designs in New York City.

He defines his look as "the English look with the Italian finish". Corvato appreciates the silhouette of the English suit, with trim, tailored lines. But English tailors don't bring the same refined stitching and attention to detail as their Italian counterparts.

Corvato believes this timelessness is a fundamentally Italian trait. A good suit, he believes, is forever.

"A custom suit can last twenty to thirty years, not only one season," he says.

For Nino Corvato, the quality and longevity of custom design and tailoring will never fade.

"When you get something that is custom-made, you get something special," he says with his infectious smile. "You feel like you are a part of the world."
