July 23, 2016 – Just when one thought that the standings were set in this year’s Tour de France, the final four days in the Alps provided a major shakeup in the standings, as Bauke Mollema disintegrated, slipping from second to 11th in the final standings, while Romain Bardet and Nairo Quintana moved into the final podium positions. And if Chris Froome appeared in control, a harsh crash on a rain-slicked descent, could easily have cost him his yellow jersey.
