Dec 18, 2015 – It’s Day 6 of the 12 Days of Dig, and we dig what we carry on…There is a whole category of adventure between the epic halfway-around-the-world trip and the all-day ride from your front door. It can require a quick overnight, a few essentials tossed in a bag, a dash to the airport—when luggage shortcomings should be addressed. There comes a time when it is no longer acceptable to travel with a bag that looks like it was designed for a paratrooper, or a roller that could have been picked up at a garage sale. Travel used to be glamorous. Let’s get some of that glamour back!

Understated and classic, the Everlane Twill Weekender was design d to be the embodiment of simple utility, and it’s all the more beautiful for it. Sturdy twill with leather details, the bag has a small interior zip pocket and is water resistant with a cotton twill-fused lining. The straps are 12 inches long, so the bag can be carried traditionally or over the shoulder with the same straps. Stuffed to capacity, the bag will still fit in the average overhead bin.

If you haven’t grown up enough to give up on the backpack, rest easy. The backpack has grown up thanks to Herschel’s Little America. Inspired by Edmund Hilary-era mountaineering packs, the Little America has volume as big as its style. With a laptop sleeve, media pocket, ventilated mesh padding and magnetic closure, it’s surprisingly high tech. The interior is lined with Herschel’s signature red-and-white-stripe-coated cotton.
