Occupying the mid-tier of Lazer’s range, the Sphere MIPS benefits from plenty of trickle-down tech, and it introduces some features of its own, too. Because most people’s heads sit at a 15-degree angle while riding, the Sphere’s vents maximize airflow at this angle. And in addition to that enhanced cooling power, the helmet comfortably fits a greater number of head shapes thanks to Lazer’s proven Advanced Rollsys retention system which provides evenly distributed 360-degree retention. On the safety side, in addition to MIPS, the Sphere includes a polycarbonate layer, helping it achieve something we have increasingly come to expect from Lazer, and which we should expect out of all of our helmets: a 5-star safety rating from Virginia Tech’s independent helmet-testing facility. Plus, with a snap-on Aeroshell cover available, it’s super-versatile, easily converting into a more aerodynamic helmet or one perfect for cold days.
