Trek’s value-minded Crockett Cyclocross line expands
The Crockett 4 and 5 add more versatility and value to the aluminum ‘cross bikes

Bike categories keep getting more and more segmented. Where once the only option for a drop-bar, off road-bike was a cyclocross bike, now there’s an entire range from gravel to adventure bikes. Trek’s Crockett line aims to be an option for those who need their one bike to do everything.

Trek says that if you needed to, you could commute, race ‘cross and ride gravel all on this bike—and even do all three in a weekend.
The Crockett uses Trek’s 300 Series Alpha Aluminum to create a frame that weighs 1,325g for a painted size 56cm. And the welds are cleaner and smoother than many production alloy frames thanks to something Trek is calling Invisible Weld Technology. The frame is paired with a Trek OCLV carbon fork.
The Crockett 4 uses flat-mount dual-piston mechanical disc brakes and a Sram Apex 1×11 drivetrain while the 5 upgrades to hydraulic disc brakes and Sram Rival 1×11. Both versions include internal cable routing for a clean look.
Trek is using the T47 threaded bottom bracket system, which offers a wide stance and is compatible with most cranks, because it says that it offers strength, stability and easier servicing.
Both the 4 and 5 use Bontrager Affinity TLR wheels, which have 21mm wide internal rims to handle the maximum 38mm tires recommended by Trek. Running 38mm tires leaves 4mm of frame clearance.
