Wahoo Speedplay Comp Gear of the Day

Speedplay recently underwent an overhaul, relaunching with a simplified product line now that the revered pedal brand is part of Wahoo. Sure, there is a fancy featherweight titanium model, and also an aero pedal, but the most exciting part of this relaunch might just be the entry-level COMP model. It offers all the same adjustability that attracts most people to SPEEDPLAY in the first place, including 15 degrees of adjustable float and three-axis cleat adjustability, while only weighing 10 grams more than the most popular ZERO model. That’s a very modest penalty to save $80 over the ZERO, with really not much else in the way of downsides. If you’re looking to get started with clipless pedals, the COMP is a perfect choice that offers plenty of performance and will continue to be a great choice long after you get the hang of clipping in and out.
