Gilbert Wins Belgian National Title

June 26, 2016 – Philippe Gilbert won his second Belgian road race title on Sunday ahead of Tim Wellens and Greg Van Avermaet.

The one-day classics specialist broke clear of the peloton with 30km left alongside Wellens before triumphing in a two-up sprint for the line.

The 33-year-old BMC rider was also Belgian champion in 2011, a year before winning the world title.
