Mar 9, 2016 – In what can only be described as an insane day of bicycle racing, Stage 3 of the Paris-Nice race was cancelled mid-way through the stage due an intense snowstorm on the Col des Echarmeaux.

While bad weather was predicted for this stage that finished in the Beaujolais region of France, much of the day simply seemed to be another cold, rainy day in the race sometimes called The Race to the Sun. But as the riders climbed the Col des Echarmeaux, the rain suddenly turned to snow, making the roads impossible to navigate, and forcing the race organizers to cancel the third stage of this historic race in 25 years.
