It was another Milan-San Remo for the sprinters as rain, cold and the removal of the Pompeiana climb conspired to dull the threat of the classics specialists and all-rounders. Despite a dangerous attack by Nibali on the Cipressa and punishing turns by Sagan’s teammate, De Marchi, a group that included almost every sprint threat in the peloton – Cavendish, Ciolek, Greipel and the underrated Kristoff – hit the line together with the young Norwegian claiming his first ‘monument’. As usual, our man on the moto, Yuzuru Sunada was there capturing all the action, despite the weather.
