Giordana’s latest kit, Lungo, takes the type of development and technology usually associated with race kit, and wields it in on a kit designed for the endurance rider. Watch our review here, straight from the #PelotonServiceCourse.
Giordana Lungo jersey fabric is beautifully soft against the skin, but look closely at the multiple knit patterns and it’s easy to see the jersey is designed to wick moisture away quickly, keeping you dry and cool in the heat. The patterning appears quite traditional, highlighted by bright blocks of color for each panel and large ‘Giordana’ text over the pockets that looks fantastic in the saddle. But closer inspection reveals the ‘hammerhead’ shoulder design. It keeps the jersey comfortable and casual at the coffee stop, while fitting perfectly if you slide down to the drops and get aggressive in the saddle.
It feel slim and fitted without extra fabric, yet it never makes a rider with a bit more than 4% body fat feel like a stuffed sausage. Lungo does much more than just keep riders cool and comfy over long miles, it’s designed to put all the gear you need for a long day in easy reach with six total pockets. Three traditional pockets are flanked by two smaller side pockets, perfect for gels or blocks, with a sixth security pocket on the right finished in a reflective boarder.
With a similar fit philosophy and the same technical expertise working for the endurance riders, the matching Lungo bibs are simply among the best bibs ever made. The legs feature a single seam and gentle compression while the Cirro S chamois is comfy for a full day in the saddle without feeling like a diaper. Upfront, the Copa Mondial patterning and fabrics create comfort and stability, no on the bike adjustments needed.
